Brenda Martinez to premiere debut single on KEDA Monday 11/11/19

Accordionist’s “Lola” to air Monday November 11th at 8 p.m.

San Antonio, TX — The world premiere of “Lola,” the debut single from up and coming conjunto accordionist Brenda Martinez will hit the airwaves on Monday, November 11th at 8pm on KEDA radio with host Mark Weber.

This is the very first recording for Martinez, who is a native of San Antonio’s west side, and is one of the tracks off of her full-length album Favoritas De Mis Padres, due out in mid-December on Rancho Alegre Records

“Like so many others on the West Side, our radio was always tuned to KEDA when I was growing up. So to get my music played on KEDA is a dream come true anyway, but to have the world premiere with everyone tuning in to hear it is even more exciting!” says Martinez.

Favoritas De Mis Padres is a collection full of traditional conjunto selections dedicated to her parents that showcase her well-honed accordion skills and her attachment to the beloved genre. The album is loaded with rare classics like “Lola,” which was a hit for Ruben Naranjo y Los Gamblers in the 1970s, plus some new interpretations, as well as an original polka, “La Galleta (Cookie Polka),” composed by Martinez herself. Recorded at Escalante Music in San Antonio, the album also features veteran musician and Grammy Award winner Oscar Garcia on various instruments.

KEDA broadcasts 24 hours a day in the San Antonio area on 99.9FM and 1540AM and worldwide on kedaradio.com and their mobile app.

“Lola” will be available on all digital outlets on Tuesday, November 12 and Favoritas De Mis Padres will be available on digital, CD and vinyl formats by mid-December. For more information and updates, follow Brenda Martinez and Rancho Alegre on various social media platforms.
