Good news, everyone! We have begun transitioning our interviews over to podcastland! You can find us on all the major platforms. Check it out!
Fito Olivares passed away today March 17, 2023 at age 75.
In July 2013, Rancho Alegre met up with the Cumbia legend before a show at Cuauhtemoc Hall in San Marcos, Texas, and he gave us what he said was one of the most in-depth and fulfilling interviews he had ever given up until that point.
The people have spoken. The RACMF LIVES! We want to see each and every one of you next month!!
While we didn’t quite make our $35k goal, we did raise nearly $20k through a combination of sources, and that’s enough to put on the event. And we are still accepting donations. It won’t be at the same levels as last year, but we don’t have to cancel and will be able to have all three days.
Good afternoon! As of 2:30pm, we have raised approximately $18,000 through a combination of a grant from Texas Commission on the arts, private offline donations, and just over $7400 from our AmplifyATX campaign! Amplify ends at 6pm, and we will find out how much we have received in matching funds after Amplify ends.
THANK YOU to all who have pledged and given so far! We're feeling good and believe we can make it to the finish line!
Here's the link to donate through AmplifyATX - Thank you for helping save the Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival!
Dear friends,
A lot of folks have asked what's happening with this year's Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival and here's the update: we applied for funding through the City of Austin Cultural Arts department, as we always do, and our application was denied. We appealed their decision and that was denied too. We contacted our elected officials, and despite their efforts, there's nothing they could do to help us.
That's right! You've loved our interviews for years, but now you can listen to them wherever you get your podcasts!
There's a storm blowing through town right now, but we're just going to move everything inside at Central Machine Works. See you there!
The Rancho Alegre lineups have always been diverse and have featured talent from all over the state who don’t usually get a shot to play in Austin or at bigger festivals. The lineup for 2023 is no exception.
Remember this event is free admission and all ages are welcome.
Friday April 28 - Central Machine Works (4824 E Cesar Chavez) - 7 to 10pm:
