Band Bio:

Like their name implies, Conjunto Puro Corazón is all heart. The group chose the name because their members all perform this soul-pleasing roots music from the heart when entertaining audiences in and around San Antonio, Texas. Conjunto Puro Corazón is also a unique supergroup of sorts not seen very often in conjunto. Many view Conjunto Bernal's harmonization of two accordions as visionary. Conjunto Puro Corazón has had up to eight accordionists and two bajo sexto players on stage at once.

Puro Corazón's shows are spectaculary diverse as each accordionist specializes in a particular style of accordion music. In addition to conjunto, audiences are likely to hear norteño and even country in a single Puro Corazón set. Their uniqueness does not end on stage.

Members of the group have day jobs in a wide array of fields. Some members are teachers, therapists, and accountants. Conjunto Puro Corazón bandleader, Andy Cardenas, is an engineer. Band members see the group as a source of relaxation away from their busy professional lives. Most of Conjunto Puro Corazón's accordionists have recieved accordion lessons from the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and Conjunto Heritage Taller. Most have also had the honor of learning accordion from 3x conjunto hall of famer, Bene Medina.

Conjunto Puro Corazón has made appearances at the Texas Folklife Festival, Conjunto Shoot Out, the King William Fair, and several other festivals in Seguin as well as New Braunfels, Texas. Puro Corazón's first CD, "Sueños," was released in August of 2015. The group are also recipients of the STCA 2016 Mentor of The Year Conjunto Award. Puro Corazón will be performing once again at the Texas Folklife Festival this June.
